Imagine a place where anything is possible. Now imagine it took the form of a blog on poetry, history, culture & science.

ABOUT ME:
trying my best to not be too nerdy. Wants to be a New England literati. Second choice: manic pixie dream boy. I cook food when you're not looking. I make references to obscure topics and get annoyed when you don't understand. But that's ok. I don't think I understand either. We can research it together.

Not only an awesome trailer for an upcoming game but a fairly well shot & edited one as well. Hopefully there’s more of these to come. I’d pay to see a movie in a world similar to this (post-apocalyptic Russian setting)

Can someone tell me what is being said? It looks like a really good video game (or at least a book I would read).

I just rewatched Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas. Excellent movie. Much more depth than typical animated fair. That said, I enjoyed/hated pointing out all the weird 3D/2D discrepancies. It was as if someone put bad video-game graphics into a beautiful ink drawing. I loooved Eris’s sequences though. so cool.

Why I Can't Read Lovecraft

halfmandrill:

H. P. Lovecraft, a much-beloved nerd god of pulpy, purple prosey horror and bleak isolation. I read a book of his once, and I loved it. But I can’t bring myself to read his work anymore. I wrote a piece about it.

This is actually a really interesting Marxist reading of HP Lovecrafts work. I will never look at Lovecraft the same way again.  I think I’ll still read his stories though.
